Art and Design
I am Mia, your Art and DT Ambassador. I think Art is important because it allows children to express their feelings, be creative, and to be able to use fun things eg pencils, pens, paint and lots more. At Blenheim, we look at different people's famous works and Art pieces (Van Gogh, Picasso, Mondrian and Warhol to name but a few). Also, we use creativity by doing landscapes and portraits. I also think children really enjoy doing Art in school.
Art and Design Technology at Orion Blenheim: For children to understand that art is and has always been created by people from every culture/ethnicity/religion around the world and to be exposed to it.
• For them to be able to confidently discuss and critique art created by artists from around the world as well as their own creations.
• For them to be able to create confidently with a variety of media whether using fine art for a stimulus or their imagination.
• For them to understand and practice the process of creating in Design Technology – plan, make, evaluate.
